Sport Therapy

After an injury (be it sports related or not)the healing process can out be a slow and arduous one but with adaptive training to strengthen and correct potential stability or postural weaknesses, and guidance from a sports therapist in conjunction with a doctor and or a physiotherapist, these issues can quickly and effectively be rectified.

Starting with correcting postural realignment, by physically putting the injured limb or are into its correct position allowing the brain to gain and memorise body aligned information, from this motion is involved, maintaining correct Range Of Movement(ROM).

Once full ROM is achieved then strengthening around the affected joint can take place using the limb and gravity as resistance, once the exercises are preformed with ease and continuity then, increased resistance can be used with bands and small weights (Dumbells)

In conjunction with the exercises, deep tissue massage or sports massage and stretching can be used to increase blood flow to the area. With icing and massage this breaks down the internal scare tissue and flush it away so aiding the speed of recovery
